The exhibition

Danish Technical Museum

Here in April the Danish Technical Museum displays an exhibition of origami models folded (and often designed) by me.

The museum has paper as a theme during Easter, and as part of that I provide an origami workshop and exhibition. The public could get instructional sheets for folding on their own, would add models to the exhibition, and could be taught origami on Tuesday.

In particular it was fun to make models directly for the Technical Museum. That includes a small landscape with cars, and the large truck standing on top of the montre: 500 x 70 cm paper, the finished model is 140 cm. You can do that when you have just bought 100 m red wrapping paper (and ditto green and gold, used in the Christmas trees and in the large golden rose). In addition I remade some diagrams for this occasion, including the jumping frog

Almost the workshop had to be called off. Still on Monday I lay feverish in my bed. Fortunately I was accurately fresh enough Tuesday, and everything went great with lots of interested people, even if the giant exhibition hall is somewhat cold.

The bulldozer is designed by Giles Towning ("Origami under construction", a booklet from British Origami Society). I'm grateful for the designers who has given me a general permission to use their designs. See the names in the model list.

The pictures are taken after the workshop when I had packed my stuff, just before closing time. The paper on the tables bear witness about some of the many people who came around.
